Cutting WoodUbend Mouldings to size

Another top tip is if your WoodUbend Mould design is too big for your project no problem! Just use sandpaper or a craft knife to remove the excess. Our moulds can be sanded smooth so you would never know it has been changed. Cutting the WoodUbend moulding to size must be done when warm. In their cool state, our mouldings are brittle and can break if pressure is applied, but when heated are bendable and pliable! The best way to trim our moulding is to use a sharp craft knife when the moulding is warm from heating. This makes the WoodUbend Moulding easier to cut or trim. Heating them on a heated griddle if they are one of the larger designs works well, but just a regular hair dryer or heat gun is sufficient.

One of the many benefits of our mouldings is if the cut has been made just a smidge too short, when heated they are very pliable and can be stretched ever so slightly to fit your upcycle project! How cool is that!?

How to glue and install a WoodUbend Moulding

We recommend using good quality wood glue such as Titebond quick & thick, Gorilla glue for wood or even a high-quality white wood glue. Using the right glue ensures excellent adhesion and makes sure your project lasts and stands the test of time. This is an important top tip so don’t cut corners in this process! It will be worth it.

As simple as that

Stain or paint the WoodUbend to match your project

Our mouldings are the colour of pale wood and this makes them the perfect base to stain or paint to any colour you want. Our mouldings will accept almost all stains and look just like wood does when stained. You could add a new coat of paint, or use a stain to match a vintage piece! With a little creativity, you can use WoodUbend mouldings to create unique and stylish pieces of furniture, craft projects and even interior projects. Another great Top Tip is to try both! Stain the moulding and then paint them. When it dries, distress a little to see the darker wood tone peeking through, this is a very effective way to get the aged look quickly and easily.

Adding decorative details for a unique look

Add decorative details for a unique look is simple by using Posh Chalk Metallic Products, mimicking the look of old gold leaf with one of our pigments or using a paste to add texture and age to any of our WoodUbend Moulding. You can embellish them like they are, or paint or stain them first. They are just so versatile…the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
