Are you ready to witness a stunning transformation with WoodUbend and Posh Chalk products? In this blog post, we’ll take you through an exciting stool makeover project, using WoodUbend trims, Magic Paint, and Posh Chalk products. Get ready to be inspired and unleash your creativity!
Step 1: Adhering WoodUbend Trim
To begin our stool’s transformation with WoodUbend, I used a WoodUbend Trim 0119IE to add a touch of elegance. This wide, decorative, floral trim is designed for upcycling furniture and interior design projects.
To use the WoodUbend trim, I simply heated it using a heat gun or hairdryer until it became pliable. I then applied a thin, even layer of WoodUglue to the back of the heated trim, ensuring I covered its entire footprint. WoodUglue is a strong high quality wood glue, ideal for creating a lasting bond. I pressed the trim firmly into place on the stool, and cleaned off any excess glue with a damp paintbrush or baby wipe. I then reheated the trim in place and pressed down again even more firmly, holding it until it starts to cool to ensure a strong bond.
I adhered one strip of this beautiful trim to each side of the stool, instantly elevating its look. Remember, any unused trim can be reheated and bent back into a coil for future projects!
Step 2: Painting with Magic Paint
Next, we’re bringing in our base colour with Pepper Blue by Magic Paint. This paint is known for its rich pigments and smooth, matt finish. Magic Paint requires no primers or sanding and adheres to any surface. We’re using a Posh Chalk Mouldings Brush to apply the paint to the legs of the stool, including the WoodUbend trim we just added.
This high-quality round brush has striking purple bristles and a fine tip, perfect for getting into all the intricate detail of the trim. The paint coverage is very high, and it’s odourless, making it ideal for indoor use. Once the paint is applied, I used a heat gun to speed up the drying process.
Step 3: Highlighting with Posh Chalk Prussian Blue Metallic Paste
To add depth and highlight the details, I used the Posh Chalk Blue Prussian Metallic Paste. This paste has a beautiful shimmer and creamy texture, perfect for accentuating specific areas. I used a Posh Chalk Smooth & Blend Brush to carefully brush the paste over the peaks of the stool’s legs and underside. This brush, with its silky smooth bristles, is ideal for achieving a flawless finish. The paste is water-based and scented with essential oils, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Step 4: Adding a Touch of Gold with Posh Chalk Lemon Gold Metallic Pigments
For the final touch, we’re adding a hint of luxury with Posh Chalk Lemon Gold Metallic Pigments. These pigments are incredibly versatile and should be mixed with Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor to create a paste-like consistency. The Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor is an outdoor grade top coat sealer, specifically designed for use with Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments.
We’re using this mixture to highlight the details of the trim sections and specific parts of the stool’s legs, adding a touch of glamour. To use Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments, I started by gradually adding a small amount of infusor to the decanted pigment powder and mixed until I achieved my desired consistency. Then, I applied the mixture with a small brush to highlight the details.
The Final Result
And there you have it! A beautifully transformed stool, showcasing the versatility of WoodUbend trims, Magic Paint, and Posh Chalk products. This project is a testament to how you can take an ordinary piece of furniture and turn it into a work of art. We hope this inspires you to embark on your own creative journey!
