Get ready to witness a crafting transformation that will ignite your creativity! Today, we’re diving headfirst into a thrilling project where we take a humble Posh Chalk Handle Bottle Box Wooden Craft and elevate it to a stunning, bespoke piece using the incredible power of WoodUbend mouldings and trims, the vibrant shimmer of Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments, and the rich depth of Posh Chalk Patina. Buckle up, crafting enthusiasts, because this is going to be good!
Step 1: Assembling Our Canvas with the Power of WoodUglue
First things first, we needed to bring our Handle Bottle Box to life! This flat-packed beauty was quickly and securely assembled using the trusty WoodUglue. This isn’t just any wood glue; it’s been specially formulated for a super strong and reliable bond, perfect for ensuring our project stands the test of time (and maybe a few celebratory bottles!). We simply applied a thin, even layer of WoodUglue to the joining surfaces and then pressed them firmly together. Any excess glue was easily wiped away with a damp cloth. It’s that easy to create a solid foundation for our masterpiece!
Step 2: Elevating the Elegance with WoodUbend Applique and Trim
Now for the exciting part – adding those exquisite details that will truly set our project apart! We reached for the captivating WoodUbend Applique WUB2138 and WoodUbend Trim 0119IE. These aren’t your average embellishments; they’re heat-bendable, paintable, sandable, and drillable, offering limitless creative possibilities. To use these fantastic WoodUbend mouldings, the key is heat. We carefully warmed the WUB2138 applique and the 0119IE trim using a heat gun until they became beautifully pliable – this only takes a few moments, but remember to always exercise caution when working with heat.
Once warm and flexible, the WoodUbend effortlessly moulded to the surface of our box. We applied a generous amount of WoodUglue to the back of each warmed piece and positioned them precisely on our Handle Bottle Box, pressing firmly for a strong and lasting bond. Any stray WoodUglue was quickly cleaned with a damp cloth. We strategically placed the pair of intricate WUB2138 appliques as a focal point on the two long panels, instantly adding a touch of ornate charm. The elegant 0119IE trim was then carefully applied to the two shorter panels, adding a layer of sophisticated texture. The flexibility of the heated WoodUbend made it a breeze to follow the contours of the box!
Step 3: Unleashing Shimmering Magic with Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments
Time to bring on the bling! We wanted to highlight the stunning details of our WoodUbend additions, so we reached for the dazzling Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments in Orange Gold and Smoky Charcoal. These pigments are intensely vibrant and offer a luxurious metallic sheen that catches the light beautifully. To unlock their shimmering potential we mixed a small amount of our chosen Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments with Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor on an old WoodUbend board. We started with just a little infusor and gradually added more until we achieved a smooth, paintable consistency – the perfect recipe for metallic magic!
Then we carefully applied the pigment mixture to the raised details of the WoodUbend appliques and the trim segments. It was incredible to watch as those intricate details sprang to life with a touch of glorious metallic shimmer! For an even more intense metallic effect, you can always apply multiple thin layers, allowing each to dry slightly before adding the next. The contrast between the warm Orange Gold and the deep Smoky Charcoal beautifully accentuated the three-dimensional nature of the WoodUbend, adding a real wow factor to our Handle Bottle Box.
Step 4: Adding Depth and Antiquity with Posh Chalk Dark Brown Patina
To add a sense of age, depth, and artistic flair, we reached for the exquisite Posh Chalk Dark Brown Patina. This product is fantastic for creating shadows, highlighting details, and adding an overall antique feel to your projects. To use the Posh Chalk Patina effectively, you should first apply it generously. So, using a brush, we applied the Dark Brown Patina around and in between the details of the WoodUbend mouldings and trims, not holding back on the application at this stage.
To then spread the patina across the entire surface of the Handle Bottle Box and create a beautiful vintage effect, we used the Posh Chalk Patina Extending Wax and a Posh Chalk Wax Extender Brush. We applied a small amount of the extending wax to our brush and then worked it into the applied patina. This clever technique allowed us to spread the rich colour evenly and create a smooth transition across the entire piece.
If you desire to reveal more of the base colour or create highlights, you can gently wipe away some of the patina with a soft cloth or paper towel while it’s still wet. The Dark Brown Patina, expertly extended with the wax, settled beautifully into the nooks and crannies of the WoodUbend, emphasising the intricate designs and creating a stunning aged effect across the entire Handle Bottle Box. The Posh Chalk Wax Extender Brush made blending a dream, resulting in a professional and seamless finish.

And there you have it! Our plain Posh Chalk Handle Bottle Box has been completely transformed into a unique and eye-catching piece, bursting with character and charm. The combination of the dimensional WoodUbend appliques and trims, the luxurious shimmer of the Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments, and the rich depth of the Posh Chalk Patina has created a truly bespoke item that’s ready to showcase your favourite bottled treasures in style.
