This simple yet versatile box has been transformed into a masterpiece using the incredible flexibility of WoodUbend trims, the shimmering allure of Posh Chalk metallic pastes, and the delicate beauty of Posh Chalk Deluxe Decoupage. Get ready to be inspired and discover how to create your own bespoke treasure!
Preparation Stage:

Our journey began with the Posh Chalk MDF Square Box, a breeze to assemble thanks to its convenient slot-together design. We ensured a sturdy build by securing each panel with WoodUglue, guaranteeing a strong and lasting bond. To elevate the box’s design, we we decided that we wanted to introduce the exquisite WoodUbend Trim TR813. This flexible trim will add instant architectural detail and a touch of sophistication.
To prep our chosen trim, we cut off four strips appropriately sized for each panel then applied the stunning Posh Chalk Rose Gold Metallic Paste evenly across the surface of each strip using a Posh Chalk Mouldings Brush. The Posh Chalk Metallic Pastes are known for their rich pigmentation and lustrous finish, providing a beautiful, eye-catching effect. We allowed the metallic paste to dry completely, and the trims were then prepped and ready for application. To create a soft, elegant backdrop, we painted the entire Square Box with Cotton by Magic Paint, using a Posh Chalk Smooth & Blend Brush for a flawless finish. This brush is perfect for achieving smooth, even coverage.
Applying Posh Chalk Decoupage:

To infuse the box with floral charm, we applied the Posh Chalk Bouquet of Flowers deluxe decoupage around all four sides. We ensured the surface of the box was clean and dry, then carefully cut or tore the desired sections of the decoupage. A thin, even layer of Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor was applied to the box’s surface, and the decoupage was gently placed onto the glued area, smoothing out any wrinkles or air bubbles with Posh Chalk Smooth & Blend Brush. We then applied another more generous layer of Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor over the top to seal and protect it, then allowed it to dry completely.
Adhering WoodUbend Trims:

First, we heated the pre-painted WoodUbend TR813 trims with a heat gun or hairdryer to make them pliable. We then applied WoodUglue to the back of the trims, carefully positioned them along the bottom edge of each side of the box, and pressed firmly. To finalise their adherence we heated them again in situ and pressed them down firmly once more.
Decorating Lid:

To create a stunning textured lid, we combined Posh Chalk Rose Gold Metallic Paste with Posh Chalk Smart Texturizer. We decanted a small amount of the metallic paste and mixed in the Smart Texturizer, which adds body and texture. The mixture was applied to the removable lid panel using a sponge, creating the desired texture. Then, we used a Posh Chalk Premium Finishing Trowel to smooth and refine the texture, creating a polished finish. This trowel is designed for smooth, even application and professional results. We allowed the textured lid to dry completely.
Detailing:

To add subtle highlights and enhance the box’s details, we mixed Posh Chalk Pale Gold Pigments with Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor. On an old WoodUbend Moulding MDF board, we combined the pigments and the infusor until we had created our desired consistency. Using a dry brush, we lightly applied the pigment mixture over the details of the WoodUbend TR813 trim strips and the textured lid. This technique added a subtle shimmer and highlighted the textures and details.
Conclusion:
Our Posh Chalk MDF Square Box has been transformed into a stunning, one-of-a-kind piece, showcasing the versatility and beauty of WoodUbend and Posh Chalk products. The combination of metallic shimmer, intricate decoupage, and architectural details has created a truly captivating treasure.
