Welcome back to our exciting furniture transformation! In Part 1, we detailed how we used heat-bendable WoodUbend mouldings and created striking, stencilled stripe designs on the dresser’s body using Posh Chalk Metallic Pigments. Now, in Part 2, we focus on the final elements—the top panel, legs, and hardware—to complete this dazzling upcycled piece.
Let’s dive into the final stages of achieving this sophisticated look!
Creating a Faux Marble Masterpiece: The Top Panel

The large, flat surface of the top panel was the perfect place to introduce an unexpected, luxurious texture. We began by giving the entire top panel a smooth base coat using “Enjoy” by Magic Paint, applied with a Posh Chalk Smooth & Blend Brush to ensure a flawless foundation.
For the unique faux marble effect, we prepared two different colours of Athenian Plaster. Athenian Plaster is a beautiful medium that allows for incredible depth and texture. The first colour mixture was created by blending the plaster with Posh Chalk Arctic White Colour Kick. Colour Kicks are highly concentrated tinting pastes, so we simply added a small amount of the Arctic White paste to our plaster until the desired bright white shade was achieved. For the second colour, we mixed the plaster with a combination of the Posh Chalk Mocha Delight and Bright Scarlet Colour Kicks. Adding these two rich colours together created a warm, complex, almost burgundy-brown tone—perfect for mimicking veining.
With our two colours ready, we began the application. The majority of the surface was covered by sponging on the Mocha/Scarlet mixture. We used a sea sponge to dab and press the plaster onto the panel, creating a lovely, raised texture. Then, the Arctic White Athenian Plaster was strategically applied in streaks over the base colour, mimicking the light, natural veining of marble.
Finally, while the plaster was still wet, we took a Posh Chalk Premium Finishing Trowel and gently dragged it across the surface. This crucial step flattened the raised texture created by the sponge, smoothing the surface dramatically. Once this mixture fully dries and is polished, this technique will result in a beautifully realistic, glossy faux marble surface.

Tying It All Together with Bronze

With the front, sides, and top panel transformed, all that remained was to unify the entire design. The key was to bring back that gorgeous metallic element introduced on the stripes and mouldings from Part 1.
To do this, we mixed more of our luxurious Posh Chalk Bronze Alloy Metallic Pigments with Posh Chalk Pigment Infusor. As before, we mixed the pigment with the infusor until we reached a perfect paint consistency. This metallic mixture was then applied directly to the original drawer handles and the dresser’s legs and feet. By painting these structural and functional elements in the same vibrant bronze that accented the rest of the piece, we ensured a beautiful, cohesive flow. Also, to add a layer of protection, we applied a coat of Posh Chalk Patina Extending Wax to the whole dresser using a Posh Chalk Wax Extender Brush. These final touches added depth and a professional finish, making the bronze details truly pop against the paint.
